Safety gear makes you faster too.

Confidence in a relatively pain-free spill, when you consider how much it's gonna hurt w/o pads and a helmet, will help ya balls drop a bit.

+1 as well.  my balls dropped about an inch when I got my full face, and about a half a foot when I got my leathers.

i am all for ball-dropping gear, but what's getting my panties in a wad is that ONE arrogant fool in a head-splitting crash could seriously change the way this game is played for ALL of us.

Every one can do what they want also means that i can give you shit if i see you risking being "that ONE."

I'd be dead (or a vegetable) as of last run on sun.  All the hard plates on the left side of my body armor are split in half and my helmet is pretty fugged up.  Apparently I was out cold on the road for a couple of minutes.  I don't even remember my trip home.  But I do have a broken collarbone to remind me.  So much for FBF this year.

Last Sunday?
You crashed coming down early from K2? Or were you part of the Big Burnside crew?
I was part of the very last K2 bomb and didn't see or hear anything about it, and we left like 20-30 minutes after the earlybirds.
How did it happen? Sounds brutal if it wrecked your body armor.

All I have to say is that I was riding down, fast as usual, nearing big burn.  Next thing I can remember was putting my bike in the garage. (over half an hour later)  It happened so fast I don't even remember crashing down.  Wish I had a helmet cam for it.
Didn't realize I was injured till I woke up in the morning and felt the pain.

For the record, you can still suffer a suvdural bleed or increased ICP with a helmet on, which is why you should always go to the hospital if you suffer a concussion.  Not that you'd think about it with a head injury if noone is there to advise you.
