last night after a great weekend, we do big burn. i'm getting amped, out near the front 5, i draft behind felix, then try to pass, I DIDN'T CALL MY SIDE, i thought i had enough room. i didn't Sad he also went left around another person in front. i think i clipped him, but it's hard to tell if in fact, i just spun out and slid/tumbled.

i slid on my shoulder/full face, broke the headlight off the top of my helmet, ripped off my hood, got 'the hip scrape', elbow scrap and fucked my knee something horrorshow.
i can still move everything, but my knee is swollen & missing large chucks of flesh. i was pretty wrapped up in a lot of knit, but i wasn't wearing my pads i usually wear!
my front wheel has 6 spokes ripped out of the rim. it's all wobbledee and shit. i'm also lucky that i have a brand new pair of 16" wheels sitting at home!

this was all my falut. i'm really glad i didn't take anyone out, and that i got out of the road quickly. i can't recall if i gabbed my bike or if Jake (nice new guy w/ a flower seat) or Pedicab Ryan did, but they both stayed behind and helped my the whole time. i got my bike on my backpack, and rode on ryans' pegs to wired. thank you j-ryde and kaitee for patching me up. i was super shook up. i had to wake chuck at 3 am to come get me. i'm glad we had his mom's truck for the weekend.

yikes.

massive wheel FAIL.

holy shit that was YOU!?!? fuck emily that sucks!!  I was only 20 feet behind you and saw the whole thing, though I swear I thought I saw you get speed wobbles and then go down, I thought we were on a pretty straight away, just goes to show unreliability of eyewitness reports, cuz for that matter I thought it was a new/er person and not you, I can't believe I didn't spot that it was you, well fuck!  that sucks girl, but way to top off a weekend, and at least it was right in the beginning kinda, we could have been going a LOT more fast on that one

for what it's worth I came within a click of eating shit on that same run like a minute after you, I was trying to pass in the oncoming traffic lane and gambling that there would be no car, so of course all of a sudden a BUNCH of traffic comes through from nowhere and I hit my brakes (always slow down when there's a car guys!) but I was going so fast that my rear wheel locked up and skidded and I had to balance the skidding board then reached out my FOOT and laid it flat on the ground to slide along the pavement to keep my balance -- somehow miraculously I didn't topple to the side and got my foot back ON the board and even got back up to speed enough to take 3rd (woulda had first if it weren't for that fuckin car) -- in a bigger pack it could have been bad luckily I had the room to pull back over right and do my thing

anyway hope you heal up and way to go gnarly on freak bike fall's last freaky minutes

ouch!  i have some band-aids and vodka if that will help Wink  i never felt you clip me but did hear a crash behind me, i was going too fast to look back or try to stop without getting plowed over.  did not even know it was you till a few of us waited at the gas station and heard you went down.  glad your still in once piece.

Oh Emily.... Sounds like you had a good spill. Thank god you had a full face helmet on! Sucks you didn't have the usual safety pads though.
Let me know if you need any first aid stuff. I got lots of gauze pads, neosporin, and all that good stuff. Just give me a holler.

Thanks for getting shit done and organizing an awesome weekend of fun! Always good to have motivated friends like you. Heal up, eat good food and take care of yourself!

pictures?....

I would recommend using Tiger Balm on bruises. Does wonders for me! Just make sure you keep it off of open wounds...

I'd stay away from tiger balm for at least a week or two actually if the injuries are as bad as it sounds.

ok well that seals it!!!! from the rumors and internet gossip i have heard it is 100% clear to me that both emely "b" wing  and this joshaua "doll-mom" character have proven they are not capable of riding safely in a group. from this post on i declare they are no longer welcome on my hill. if i see either on of them im going to cut their brake cables. with a knife.
